પપ્પા @ ૭૫ : જય વસાવડા

પ્રખ્યાત લેખક જય વસાવડા એ એમના બ્લોગ પર એમના પપ્પા પર લખેલ લેખ ખૂબ જ સરસ છે. એમના પપ્પા ના ૭૫ વર્ષ પુરા થયા એના પર એમને લેખ લખ્યો છે. આ રહી એની લિંક :

Registered my domain ડોમેઈન નેમ રજીસ્ટર કરાવ્યું

Just now registered my domain www.yashpaljadeja.com . So now this blog will be available on this domain. Also all the old posts at (www.yashpaljadeja.blogspot.com) will be redirected to this new domain.

It was my school time dream to register a website in my name. Was planning to register it since long back when I started blogging but could never ask for the money to dad. But today somehow I felt the urge to do it. Just 2 days back I helped a friend to purchase domain name with my bank account as his account was not working. So finally purchased the domain name via blogger (in its collaboration with www.godaddy.com). The cost was $10 for 1 year i.e about Rs. 450. The advantage of purchasing a domain name with blogger is that I get a free account of Google Apps wherein I can have 10 user accounts and use different services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Sites and Google Docs. So now I can have a email id as xyz@yashpaljadeja.com.

 

However I have only purchased the domain name and not the hosting service. Hosting is still done by blogger. In future I plan to purchase hosting space and move my blog's platform to the more flexible Wordpress.

 

 

હમણા જ મે મારા આ બ્લોગ નું ડોમેઈન નેમ રજીસ્ટર કરાવ્યું. એટલે કે હવે આ બ્લોગ નું એડ્રેસ છે www.yashpaljadeja.com . અગાઉ ની બધી જ પોસ્ટ જે જુના ડોમેઈન www.yashpaljadeja.blogspot.com પર હતી એ બધી હવે આ એડ્રેસ પર રીડાઈરેકટ થશે.

 

હું નિશાળ માં ભણતો'તો ત્યારનું મારું સપનું હતું કે મારા નામે એક વેબસાઈટ હોય. અને જ્યારથી બ્લોગ લખવાનું ચાલુ કર્યું છે ત્યારથી રોજ એક વાર તો થતું જ કે હું રજીસ્ટર કરાવી લઉં પણ એના માટે પપ્પા પાસે પૈસા માંગવાની કોઈ વાર હિંમત નો'તી થતી. પણ ખબર નહિ આજે અચાનક જ ઈચ્છા થઇ આવી. અને મે પપ્પા ને પૂછ્યા વગર જ આજે મારા બેંક ના ખાતા માંથી ડોમેઈન નેમ ખરીદ્યું. હજું ૨ દિવસ પહેલા જ મે એક ફ્રેન્ડ ને ડોમેઈન નેમ ખરીદવું'તું તો એને મારા ખાતા માંથી ખરીદી આપ્યું'તું કારણ કે એનું ખાતું કોઈક કારણોસર નો'તું ચાલતું. તો પછી આજે મને પણ ઈચ્છા થઇ કે હું પણ ખરીદી લઉં. એટલે પછી www.blogger.com કે જે www.godaddy.com ની સાથે જોડાણ કરીને ૧૦ ડોલર (એટલે કે આશરે રૂ. ૪૫૦) માં દોટ.કોમ વાળું ડોમેઈન નેમ આપતું'તું એ ખરીદી લીધું. બીજો લાભ એ મળ્યો કે મને ગૂગલ એપ્સ ની ફ્રી સર્વિસ મળશે જેમાં હું ૧૦ યુઝર બનાવી શકીશ જીમેલ, ગૂગલ કેલેન્ડર, ગૂગલ સાઈટ્સ અને ગૂગલ ડોક્સ વાપરી શકીશ. અને હવે મારે કે બીજા ૧૦ ઉઝર ને મારી વેબસાઈટ ના નામથી ઇમેલ આઈડી બનાવવું હશે તો બનાવી શકાશે. જેમ કે "ઉઝર નું નામ"@yashpaljadeja.com

Main Papers Over મેઈન પેપર્સ પુરા

આજે બધા મેઈન પેપર્સ પુરા થયા. હવે ૪ દિવસ પછી કોમ્યુનીકેશન સ્કીલ્સ નું પેપર છે. અને પછી પ્રેક્ટીકલ પરીક્ષા. અને પછી ઘરે..... :-)

All the main papers finished today. Now after a gap of 4 days we are having the paper of Communication Skills followed by practical exams and then at home.... :-)

Difference in preparation of exams in M.Tech and B.E એમ.ટેક અને બી.ઈ. ની પરીક્ષાઓ ની તૈયારી માં તફાવત

આજનું પેપર ધાર્યા કરતા સારું રહ્યું. પણ થીઅરી જ પુછાય'તી એટલે લખવાનું ઘણું રહ્યું. હવે પરમદિવસે પેપર છે.

એમ.ટેક અને બી.ઈ. ની પરીક્ષાઓ ની તૈયારી માં તફાવત :
હું જ્યારે બી.ઈ માં હતો ત્યારે અમે લોકો મોટા ભાગ ના વિષયોમાં ૫-૧૦-૧૫-૨૦ માર્ક નું તો તૈયાર કરવાનું જ છોડી દેતા. કારણ કે બી.ઈ માં અમારો મુખ્ય હેતુ પાસ થવાનો જ રહેતો. પણ એમ.ટેક માં આવી ને મને ૨ માર્ક નું પણ કઈ છોડવાની ઇચ્છા નથી થતી. પરીક્ષા પહેલા બધું જ તૈયાર કરવાની કોશિશ કરું છું. બી.ઈ માં હતા ત્યારે મોટે ભાગે અમે દાખલાઓ કે પ્રોગ્રામ્સ જે ૧૫-૨૦ કે વધીને ૩૦ માર્ક ના પુછાતા એ અમે તૈયાર કર્યા વગર જ જતા. કારણ કે એ વખતે બધું તૈયાર કરવાની મેનટાલીટી જ નો'તી.  પાસ થઈએ એટલે જાણે ગંગા નાહ્યા. થીઅરી ગોખી જવાની અને પાસ થઇ જવાનું. પણ એમ.ટેક માં આવીને એ મેનટાલીટી બદલાય છે. અને હવે તો એકાદ થીઅરી કે દાખલો જોવાનો રહી ગયો હોઈ તો પણ ટેન્શન થાય છે.

બીજું એ કે અહિયાં આવીને મે જે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ વચ્ચે કમ્પીટીશન જોઈ છે એવી મે બી.ઈ માં કે સ્કૂલ માં ક્યારેય નો'તી જોઈ. અહિયાં લોકોને પોતાના માર્ક્સ ની જેટલી પડી નથી હોતી એટલી બીજાના માર્ક્સ ની પડી હોઈ છે. આ પ્રકાર ની માનસિકતા ખરાબ છે અને મને જરા પણ નથી ગમતી. અહિયાં લોકો ને બીજાના પગ ખેચીને આગળ જવું છે. પણ હું એવું નથી રાખતો. મારે તો બસ મારું જોવું છે કે મારું પરફોર્મન્સ ખરાબ ના થવું જોઈએ અને ઓછા માં ઓછો ફર્સ્ટ ક્લાસ આવી જવો જોઈએ.

Today's paper was good compared to what I had expected. However it contained only theory related questions so we had to write too much. Now the next paper is day after tomorrow.

Difference in preparation of exams in M.Tech and B.E :
I remember, in B.E. we generally used to leave some topics of most of the subjects, generally sums or programs. We would just prepare (or rather - cram) the theories and go to examinations. The only target at that time was to pass the papers. But after coming here in M.Tech I don't like to leave even a single thing. And even if I couldn't prepare or revise some minor topic, it makes me tensed. The mentality has changed from "just passing" to preparing complete syllabus.

Second thing that I have noticed here is intense competition amongst students which I never saw in B.E or in school. Students here are more concerned with the marks of others rather than theirs. I don't like such "crab mentality". As crabs generally do, students here want to pull the legs of someone who is progressing. If they couldn't progress, why should others ? But luckily I am not part of that mentality as I don't like it. I am just concerned with my performance. I just see to it that it shouldn't degrade and minimum I should get is a first class in my result.

અત્યારે હું, અમિત, નીશીત, વિમલ અને શ્રીકાંત હોસ્ટેલમાં રૂમની બાહાર લોબી માં ખાટ્લા નાખી ને બેઠા છીએ. આજે શ્રીકાંત હોસ્ટેલ પર અમારી સાથે રહ્યો છે. પરીક્ષા ના ૨ પેપરો પત્યા. હવે સીધું સોમવારે પેપર છે. પહેલા ૨ પેપર ઠીક ગયા છે. અમિત સિવાય બધા શીંગ ભજીયા ખાય છે કારણ કે એને બ્રશ કરી લીધું છે એટલે હવે એ કઈ પણ મોઢા માં નહિ નાખે.

Sitting in the lobby outside my room in hostel with Amit, Nishith, Vimal and Shrikant. Today Shrikant is staying here in hostel. 2 papers gone. Now I am having exam on Monday. First two papers were ok. All are eating Shingbhajiyaa except Amit as he has already brushed his teeth.
