Why do girls straighten their hair ?

Hair straightening is common amongst girls these days. So we (mom, dad, gopu and I) were discussing about it and then this question came that why do girls straighten their hair. And dad promptly replied : "ताकि उनका कोई बाल भी बांका न कर सके"  :-)
